Ich Komme Sofort!
This poor venture has been in motion for over two years. In fact, it has been something I have wanted to do well before I came to Germany. The goal was to create a space I could use as a visual diary. In this I would catalog my world travels, daily blurbs and unsolicited rants all from my point of view. Unfortunately, the traveling came to a halt and I didn't see myself ever having the freedom to create this thing. Then there came him and I found myself back in Europe with both feet planted in Germany. Of course the constant fear of German immigration and its bureaucracy forced me to explore the alternatives to my normal 9 to 5 and consider what it may look like to be a static creative. Germany is bordering nine other countries. Just being here gives me enough fodder to write a novel or two or eight. And my passions run the gamut of eating, cooking, documenting and filming everything in between. So I need a place to put it all and that place has slowly become Achso Tochter. The two years have been well spent paining myself with anxiety. I transformed an old YouTube channel into this spitzname. I then began to document my daily experiences in and around Deutschland. I also archived a great deal of those experiences in my words, reviews and recommendations with a strong focus on Köln. The uncertainty of my fate here as an American expat has kept me from hitting the launch button. I have stayed up late many a night pondering how this project would be received and what would it cost me? I guess the answers remain far, far away in the zukunft.
There are no goal posts here. I will have to let a thing be a thing.
