I am not the only one who failed to engage their audiences be it readers, creators, patrons, subscribers, fans etc because their connectivity decided to go on holiday for the holidays.
VLOGMAS was trash because wireless connections are trash worldwide. Even in the states I am struggling to find a valid, gratis connection even when I am dressed respectable and paying for something I normally wouldn't eat or drink. And don't think paid is any better in either country. The WLAN in my German apartment has an outage every other day. It is less reliable than 3G data on an U-Bahn platform on its best day. We have an extender and that too does absolutely nothing and it loves going AWOL during Fußball matches or when I am downloading music or better yet posting a blog entry I have been working on with no backup for hours. So now I work like some sort of cave dweller using a scratchpad for any free thought so I can at least get back to where I was when disaster strikes. And while in the states I give up. Fiber Optic installed on our house was not fail proof as described. Whatever bundle they offer on top of the highest speed internet is worthless to my family and I. And now it just doesn't work at all despite the unbundled $84.95 a month charge. So I began using the hotspot with my phone which also requires a carrier sponsored extender. If we fail to use it or send it back before its contract expires it is a whopping $175 restocking fee for its return. And this is something offered to us for free because their service sucks so badly in the 58 mile radius that of our 100k population city. Oh and the hotspot so generous with its 50GBs which is obliterated before connecting as you will get free Tidal and Hulu for your support. Anything beyond is an overage and costs per MB and is throttled. So I have resorted to going to the library which is horrible too. I am currently connected to the hair salon across the street which isn't even open. I love small towns. Now if someone could tell me a reliable gratis WLAN spot in Köln that isn't McDonalds I'll come back.
I guess I should just take my stuff out of my suitcase and use my mothers moth ball lined drawers because THAT will never happen.
